It was 12-12-06 at 4:30 AM. Obachan took the night off and Eric and I have been up hour after hour. Normally, both babies wake-up around the same time to feed but they must have know that Obachan was out of the house so they decided to alternate wake times every hour.
I just placed Matisse in his manger and was in bed trying to rest my body. Asaya started to grumble and I looked to Eric (to see if he would react to her). He was sleeping on his back with his arms crossed on top of his chest with a small pillow. As Asaya grumbled I noticed that Eric began patting his chest as if he was trying to sooth her. *Let me remind you that Asaya was in her bed sleeping.
A few seconds after her little grumble...became a full out cry! Eric popped up and began walking at the foot of the bed. He was not headed toward the side sleeper at all! What the heck is he doing??? He had his arms cradled...he was looking down...and he was patting an object as if he was holding a baby. As he turned towards me I noticed that he was half a sleep cradling that silly pillow in his arms!
"Eric...ERic...ERIC! You are not holding Asaya. You are holding a pillow!" He finally snapped out of his trance or sleep walking episode and realized what he was doing.
Boy, the life of a Rookie Papi can be quite amusing...
